Race timing using RFID technology

About UHF RFID

RFID chips completely revolutionised not only timing, but also the way races are conducted. Though it is easy to use, there are some considerations when setting up for timing a race, since no two races are alike.

We’re happy to put together a kit that meets your requirements and capabilities.

Selecting the right RFID configuration

Selecting the right equipment, and the right quantity of equipment, is crucial to successful timing. In addition to other factors, the number of participants is of crucial importance.

The general rule of thumb is one additional antenna per 100 participants.

Tagging and affixing the tags

When using RFID timing, selecting the right tags and method of tagging for the event is crucial. There are several types of tags and methods of affixing them.

The most common ones, used in the vast majority of events are single or double tags on the bib numbers, a triathlon tag, double tag road cycling race plates, helmet tag, and shoe tag.
